Had them on sale so said why not, Needed somthing new to play with Grin Sold 1 of my reference 5850's but gonna hang onto the other 5850 I have untill I get some time in with the 480.

Ok got it installed and so far so good, Temps are perfectly fine and noise is the same as any other high end card....hell maybe quieter, don't know what all the fuss is about that stuff but sure don't see it on my end at all. Card idles around 40c and loads about 70c with 70% fan speed and its very quiet at that....start going higher on fan speed and it does start to get pretty loud, but again......what card doesnt? Ran a couple of real quick benchmarks with stock clocks on the card and my cpu at 4.0ghz. I had a bunch of shit running in background whille running these benches and no tweaks or anything just ran at the default bench settings. To clairify the one test shows my cpu at 3.8...these were run at 4.0 but I use a higher multiplier on the cpu that the bench doesnt see i guess. Anyway....pretty damn powerful for a single card IMO.

That is one high score in 3dmark.  I get 19,500 with two HD5850's in Xfire.

Thanks,that run was with physx enabled, I will run it later with it turned off to get a compairable test vs. a ATI cards.....I would guess 20-21,000. But yes it is a powerful card and I havent even clocked it yet. Those 5850's are real nice cards if you can get past all the driver issues with crossfire.......real good bang for the buck. Freak need's to buy the one I have left to crossfire his Grin

Ok overclocked the card a bit but did so on stock voltage, ran vantage at default settings twice, once with physX on and then with it off. Pretty impressed with how it scaled on a very mild OC. Will do some high voltage balls to the walls runs later Grin

Nice, could you make a run with same settings but 1680x1050 instead of 1280x1024, It is always cool to see what "Real" setups from normal people do.....gives a better idea of what the hardware really works like. Thanks.
